Trot Singer Park Hyun-ho Opens Up About Past Mental Health Struggles and Career Frustrations on 'Living Together'
Trot singer Park Hyun-ho has opened up about his long-standing career frustrations and past mental health struggles, revealing a heartbreaking moment when his mother saved his life. On an upcoming episode of KBS 2TV’s Living Together Season 2, the former idol showed the vulnerable reality behind his usually bright public persona while preparing to release his latest single.
Looking at an August calendar showing only a single scheduled appearance, Park reflected on the emotional toll of an unpredictable career. Despite enduring three years as an idol trainee, debuting in a group, performing in musical theater, and transitioning to solo trot music, steady success remained elusive. He confessed that during his lowest point, he resented everything and felt entirely rejected by the world, leading to a dark moment where his mother intervened just as he attempted to jump from a window.
The emotional strain has also weighed heavily on his role at home. Observing the busy career of his wife, trot singer Eun Ga-eun, Park shared his honest anxieties as a husband and father, admitting he often fears she might regret marrying him due to his slow work periods.
Refusing to give up, Park took matters into his own hands to promote his new track, "Let's Go for a Drink." Braving a 40-degree heatwave, he traveled to highway rest stops to hand out self-prepared CDs, staged impromptu live performances on tour buses, and visited local singing classes to connect directly with potential fans.
Park Hyun-ho and Eun Ga-eun first met on KBS’s Immortal Songs in 2024. The couple tied the knot the following year and welcomed their first daughter this past February.
