2026 K-World Dream Awards Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Spectacular Global K-Pop Festival

The global music community gathered at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on August 27 for the 2026 K-World Dream Awards. Commemorating a full decade since its launch in 2017 (originally founded as the 1st Soribada Best K-Music Awards), this milestone 10th-anniversary celebration brought together top artists, industry creators, and international fans under the unifying theme: "Everyone is a Grand Prize Winner."

Co-hosted for the fourth consecutive year by the veteran duo Jeon Hyun-moo and Jang Do-yeon, the event combined massive interactive production with honoring key contributors across the entire K-pop ecosystem.

A Synchronized Celebration Across Generations

To mark the ten-year journey, the venue incorporated visual motifs highlighting the number "10," along with the ceremony's signature "self-awarding" segments, allowing artists to directly share milestone moments with their fans.

Audience members were provided with synchronized light sticks that connected in real-time to the stage system, transforming the arena into a unified sea of light. A diverse lineup—spanning rookie sensations, global chart-toppers, bands, and trot stars—performed live, including ATEEZ, P1Harmony, RIIZE, LE SSERAFIM, QWER, ILLIT, MEOVV, and Park Ji-hyun.

Star presenters added star power to the evening, including Kim Seon-ho, Jung Ryeo-won, Lee Seol, Lee Chae-min, Jin Ki-joo, Choo Young-woo, and professional billiards player Kim Ga-young.

Nam Yoo-jung Makes Solo Debut at Waterbomb Sokcho, Opting for Fresh Remakes Over 'Rollin'

Former BB Girls member Nam Yoo-jung made her highly anticipated solo stage debut at Waterbomb Sokcho 2026, held at Hanwha Resort Seorak Sorano, marking her first live festival performance since leaving the group. Ahead of the event, netizens had raised doubts about how she would anchor a solo set, questioning whether it would be fitting to perform BB Girls' trademark hit "Rollin'" while her former group continues to promote as a trio. Nam addressed the skepticism directly by leaving "Rollin'" off the setlist entirely, choosing instead to showcase three newly reimagined solo remakes. Her high-energy lineup featured vibrant reinterpretations of Jewelry’s "I Really Like You," Park Myung-soo’s summer classic "Prince of the Sea," and Uhm Jung-hwa’s iconic "Invitation." The crowd received an extra surprise during "Invitation"—which was officially released on streaming platforms the same day—when BTOB's Lee Min-hyuk...

Trot singer Park Hyun-ho has opened up about his long-standing career frustrations and past mental health struggles, revealing a heartbreaking moment when his mother saved his life. On an upcoming episode of KBS 2TV’s Living Together Season 2 , the former idol showed the vulnerable reality behind his usually bright public persona while preparing to release his latest single. Looking at an August calendar showing only a single scheduled appearance, Park reflected on the emotional toll of an unpredictable career. Despite enduring three years as an idol trainee, debuting in a group, performing in musical theater, and transitioning to solo trot music, steady success remained elusive. He confessed that during his lowest point, he resented everything and felt entirely rejected by the world, leading to a dark moment where his mother intervened just as he attempted to jump from a window. The emotional strain has also weighed heavily on his role at home. South Korean YouTuber Park Wi, creator of the channel Wiracle , has deleted a recently uploaded video and issued a public apology after facing criticism for sharing CCTV footage of a fall accident on a KTX train. The controversy began on the 21st when Park uploaded a video titled "The Reason for Releasing the CCTV Footage." The clip detailed an incident from May 14, when Park was disembarking from a KTX train to attend a speaking engagement.
