Railway Worker Demands Sincere Apology from YouTuber Park Wi Over KTX Fall CCTV Controversy

Popular YouTuber Park Wi, operator of the channel Wiracle, is facing mounting scrutiny following the publication and subsequent deletion of CCTV footage capturing a fall accident at a KTX train station. Despite issuing a public statement of regret, the creator has drawn sharp criticism from online commentators, including an individual identifying as a train engineer who demanded a formal and sincere apology on behalf of frontline railway personnel.

The controversy originated from an incident on the 14th, when Park fell while disembarking a KTX train after a scheduled lecture. As he descended a portable ramp in his wheelchair, the front wheel caught on the foot of an on-duty social service worker assisting him, causing Park to lurch forward and fall onto the platform. On the 21st, Park uploaded the station's surveillance footage to his platform, explaining that his intent was not to assign individual blame, but to highlight transit hazards and advocate for safer mobility infrastructure for wheelchair users.

Public reaction quickly polarized. While some viewers agreed that wheelchair accessibility issues require greater visibility, many criticized the decision to broadcast an assisting worker’s accidental mistake to an audience of over one million subscribers, particularly after the worker had apologized immediately at the scene. Backlash intensified when a netizen identifying as a train engineer commented that station staff frequently use their feet to stabilize shifting ramps during boarding. The commenter argued that public scrutiny should target unstable equipment rather than on-the-ground staff working demanding shifts, urging Park to deliver a genuine apology.

In response to the growing backlash, Park removed the video and posted an official apology on his YouTube community page. He acknowledged that his initial reaction was short-sighted and admitted to viewing an honest mistake through an overly critical lens rather than considering the staff member's intent to help. Extending his apologies to all on-site railway workers and viewers, Park pledged to exercise greater caution, maturity, and responsibility in his future content.
