Shin Se-kyung and Jung Hae-in are teaming up for a realistic, modern romance drama titled "Love Virus," confirmed as an upcoming TVING original series slated for release in 2027.
The series explores the relatable dilemma of long-term love and commitment. It follows two people who have been each other’s first and only romantic partners for nearly a decade. On the verge of marriage after nine years together, the couple decides to take a break to date other people, hoping to test their feelings and ensure they step into married life without lingering curiosity or regret about what might have been.
Shin Se-kyung stars as Kang Chae-rin, a professional salaried dentist who has spent years walking a steady, predictable path in both her career and her love life. As she begins to feel a quiet sense of disillusionment with her routine existence, she resolves to find a fresh sense of self-determination. Shin will portray the quiet composure, deep-seated familiarity, and independent spirit that comes with navigating a nine-year relationship.
Jung Hae-in joins her as Ha Do-woon, a dedicated lawyer and Chae-rin’s long-standing first love. The pairing marks the first on-screen collaboration between Shin Se-kyung and Jung Hae-in, setting high expectations for their chemistry as a couple dealing with the comfort, fatigue, and uncertainties of a mature relationship.
This project marks a much-anticipated return to romance for Shin Se-kyung, following her critically acclaimed big-screen turn as Chae Seon-hwa in the film Humint, which earned her the Best Supporting Actress trophy at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards. With established romance hits under her belt such as Run On, Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung, and The Bride of Habaek, Shin is expected to bring grounded emotional depth to this realistic exploration of modern love.
"Love Virus" is scheduled to premiere exclusively on TVING in 2027.
