Song Kang and Kim So-hyun Set to Reunite in Upcoming Romance Drama 'White Scandal'

Song Kang and Kim So-hyun are officially joining forces once again. Five years after headlining Netflix’s hit series Love Alarm, the pair will lead MBC’s upcoming Friday–Saturday romance drama, White Scandal.

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, White Scandal centers on a mutual-salvation romance between two scarred individuals navigating the cutthroat entertainment industry. The story follows Dan Yi-hyuk, an illegitimate chaebol heir turned top actor, and Ji Eun-seol, a former child star whose career collapsed following a pivotal incident. To protect their own interests and deceive the public, the two enter a contractual fake relationship, inadvertently unearthing buried secrets and healing old wounds in the process.

Key Cast and Characters

  • Song Kang as Dan Yi-hyuk: Korea’s premier actor and a third-generation conglomerate heir. Having spent his life performing to meet his grandfather’s expectations, Yi-hyuk lives a dual life under intense public and familial scrutiny. Desperate to escape his family's succession battle, he initiates a fake romance with Eun-seol.
  • Kim So-hyun as Ji Eun-seol: A former rising star forced out of the spotlight after a career-ending scandal. Now working behind the scenes as a celebrity manager while secretly holding onto her acting dreams, Eun-seol’s world shifts when she crosses paths again with Yi-hyuk—a key figure tied to her past downfall.

The project marks a significant tonal shift for the two leads. While Love Alarm captured the turbulent emotions of high school and young adulthood, White Scandal promises a mature, emotionally charged narrative driven by shared trauma, industry ambition, and complex interpersonal dynamics.

With casting finalized, production on MBC's White Scandal is scheduled to commence filming shortly.
