Sungri Drops 'Sad Rain,' Celebrating His 'Legend of the Unknown' Victory

Singer Sungri is returning with new music, releasing the special winner's track earned from his victory on MBN’s survival competition Legend of the Unknown.

According to his agency, C2K Entertainment, the new single "Sad Rain" will be released across all major music streaming platforms on August 20 at 6:00 PM KST.

An alternative rock track, "Sad Rain" captures the bittersweet ache of longing for a loved one. The song was written, composed, and arranged by veteran songwriter Kim Jin-ryong, the mastermind behind legendary Korean hits like "Southbound Train."

"The track was crafted to highlight Sungri’s distinct vocal texture—one that balances delicate emotional control with explosive power," C2K Entertainment shared in a statement.

Sungri, who previously built his musical career through idol groups K-BOYS and RAINZ, saw a major resurgence in popularity after clinching first place on MBN's trot survival program Legend of the Unknown this past May.

Giving fans an early preview, Sungri performed "Sad Rain" ahead of its official release on MBN’s variety program Legendary Man. The single marks his latest step as a versatile solo vocalist, bridging emotive storytelling with an expansive rock-infused sound.
