Yum Jung-ah and Park Eun-bin Team Up for Emotional Family Drama Nam Eun-jung

Acclaimed actresses Yum Jung-ah and Park Eun-bin are set to share the screen for the first time in the upcoming feature film Nam Eun-jung. The project explores a volatile, deeply human mother-daughter relationship where love and deep-seated resentment coexist, offering an honest and poignant perspective on contemporary family bonds.

The narrative centers on Kang Hyun-sook and her youngest daughter, Nam Eun-jung, two women who have struggled to find common ground throughout their lives. As long-suppressed misunderstandings and accumulated hurt surface, the film tracks their uneasy journey toward mutual understanding and emotional resolution. Rather than leaning into idealized depictions of domestic life, the story delves directly into the friction, unspoken grief, and stubborn affection that define ordinary families.

Yum Jung-ah takes on the role of Kang Hyun-sook, a resilient single mother who navigated numerous hardships while raising three children on her own. Yum reportedly chose the project due to the depth and raw humanity of the role, aiming to deliver a grounded portrayal of a woman weathered by life’s turning points. Park Eun-bin stars opposite her as the title character, Nam Eun-jung, a daughter locked in perpetual conflict with her mother. Park is expected to bring a delicate emotional balance to the role, capturing the exhausting tug-of-war between profound filial love and lingering childhood grievances.

The film also marks the feature directorial debut of Kim Dong-hoon, a filmmaker recognized for his narrative-driven commercial storytelling and a two-time winner at the Korea Advertising Awards. Backed by the combined dramatic prowess of Yum and Park, Nam Eun-jung promises an intimate, character-driven portrait of generational healing and domestic reality.
